As of April 2022, this outdoor film screening will adhere to CDC & NYC’s current COVID guidelines in outdoor spaces: masks will be optional and vaccination status will not be collected. We ask that all participants respect the choices of others and understand every human has the right to personally navigate the reopening of businesses during the pandemic accordingly. However, TDE understands that CDC & NYC guidelines are narrowly concerted for an able population and TDE is committed to being as inclusive as possible. Over the coming weeks, we will monitor case count, hospitalization capacity, and virus strain information carefully– and will update our policy accordingly. If you would like to attend but need to request invulnerability accommodations, please do not hesitate to reach out kristianns@thedynamitexperience.com.
Accessibility: There are no steps or level changes to get into the garden, however the ground near the entrance is covered in bark and usually a bit uneven, so please reach out to us if you may need assistance in any way. La Plaza Cultural is a fairly accessible space. Note: there is a curb cut at the corner (SW corner of 9th and C). If you are relying on MTA transit, please contact 511 as some schedule maintenance affects accessible stations nearby.

ABOUT TDE
Based in New York City and grounded in Kansas City, The DynamitExperience (TDE) founded 2019 by Winston Dynamite Brown and Latra Wilson, is a Contemporary Dance Company serving as a platform for creative investigations and community engagement. TDE works with the local community, specifically those that generally do not see themselves represented on stage. By examining the human condition and our relationships, the company explores movement that resonates with audiences and stimulates conversation. At the root of this experience lies the “It takes a village” approach, born from Dynamite’s experiences growing up in Kansas City. The DynamitExperience strives to funnel that energy back into the communities that created us.
We believe that through performances, teachings, and creative collaborations, TDE continues to establish itself as an anchor for the communities that helped build us. Our classes and workshops are often labeled “play sessions”; understanding that this explorative, creative artistic process is essential to the healthy expression of our communities. Our company, infused in these offerings, soaks up the individual contributions of each participant and aims to reflect the essence of the community we’re serving.
TDE kicked off its first season with The Inaugural Show at The Mark O’Donnell Theater at The Actors Fund Theater in Brooklyn, NY in January 2019. That introduction revealed a small glimpse of the trajectory of TDE; 8 new works and 12 dancers illustrating an arch between past, present and future, and insight to the direction of TDE’s current creative inclinations. Our formidable company of dedicated Artists have remained connected through the Pandemic and are looking forward to premiering Love: Recognize / Reflect in 2022.
