THE DYNAMITEXPERIENCE'S 2020 ONLINE VIRTUAL SUMMER INTENSIVE OCCURS IN TWO, WEEK LONG SESSIONS STARTING JULY 27. STUDENTS MAY SIGN UP FOR A CORE PACKAGE WITH A MINIMUM OF TWO DAYS A WEEK TO UP TO FIVE DAYS FOR TWO WEEKS. CORE PACKAGE CLASSES ARE OFFERED ON A WEEKLY SCHEDULE FROM 10 AM-1:50 PM. PRE-CONDITIONING CLASSES FROM 9:00-9:45AM AND AFTER-HOURS CLASSES FROM 2:00-2:45PM ARE OPTIONAL ELECTIVE CLASSES THAT CAN BE ADDED TO THE CORE PACKAGE TO FURTHER AID IN THE HOLISTIC APPROACH OF OUR SUMMER INTENSIVE. CONTEMPORARY TDE SESSION

THROUGH EXERCISES GROUNDED IN MODERN, BALLET, AND PILOBOLUS IDEOLOGIES AND CONCEPTS, EACH CLASS IS DESIGNED AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE INDIVIDUAL BOUNDARIES OF SPACE AND MOVEMENT RANGE. IN A SAFE AND COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENT, STUDENTS ARE CHALLENGED TO MAKE CHOICES AS THEY EXPLORE NEW METHODOLOGIES, INTERPRET, CONNECT, AND RESPOND TO MUSICAL ELEMENTS TO ULTIMATELY UNCOVER THEIR MOVEMENT PREFERENCES.

INTRO TO TDE

THIS WILL BE A SESSION GEARED TOWARD THE PARTICIPANTS IN SPACE TO GUIDE THEM THROUGH THE FUNDAMENTALS OF A TDE EXPERIENCE. IT WILL BE ROOTED IN MODERN, BALLET, AND PILOBOLUS IDEOLOGIES AND CONCEPTS, EACH CLASS IS DESIGNED AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE INDIVIDUAL BOUNDARIES OF SPACE AND MOVEMENT RANGE.

IN A SAFE AND COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENT, STUDENTS ARE CHALLENGED TO MAKE CHOICES AS THEY EXPLORE NEW METHODOLOGIES, INTERPRET, CONNECT, AND RESPOND TO MUSICAL ELEMENTS TO ULTIMATELY UNCOVER THEIR MOVEMENT PREFERENCES.

PLAY SESSION

THIS WILL BE A SPACE TO DELVE DEEPER IN THE WORK AND TASK EXPLORED DURING THE DAY AS WELL AS PREVIOUS SESSIONS. TO FIND WAYS TO MANIPULATE AND EXPAND EXISTING CONCEPTS, PHRASING AND MOVEMENT DYNAMICS. THE WHOLE OBJECTIVE IS TO CREATE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT WHERE THE PARTICIPANTS FEEL FREE TO PLAY AND EXPLORE THE OLD TO FIND THE NEW.

JAZZ

THIS JAZZ CLASS WILL BE A COMBINATION OF CLASSICAL MODERN WITH A HIP HOP FUSION TO ELEVATE AND INCORPORATE THE GENRES CURRENT STYLES AND VOCABULARY. CLASS WILL INCLUDE WARM-UP AND CENTER COMBINATIONS UTILIZING BREATH WORK, ISOLATION, ALONG WITH VARIATIONS OF TENDUS, PLIES AS WELL AS EXTENSIONS. OUR CLASS WILL FOCUS ON TECHNIQUE WHILE EXPLORING PERSONAL STYLE AND EXPRESSION. THE MUSIC WILL BE ACROSS THE GENRES TO CHALLENGE THE PARTICIPANTS IN AN EFFORT TO CREATE THE MOST VERSATILE EXPERIENCE. ALL THIS TO ENSURE PARTICIPANTS ARE ENCOURAGE TO APPROACH MOVEMENT FROM A PLACE THAT IS ROOTED IN RHYTHMIC AND DYNAMIC INTERPRETATION.

YOGA

THIS VINYASA FLOW CLASS WILL SERVE AS A BALANCED, FULL BODIED WARM UP BEFORE YOUR TECHNIQUE AND REP CLASSES. A CONTINUOUS FLOW OF MOVEMENT WILL INCREASE BLOOD FLOW AND ELONGATE THE MUSCLES SAFELY SO THEY ARE PREPARED FOR THE DEMANDS OF THE REST OF YOUR DAY.

     -YOU WILL NEED A YOGA MAT.

BODY CONDITIONING

THIS FULL BODIED, STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING CLASS WILL SERVE AS A WARMUP FOR YOUR TECHNIQUE AND REP CLASSES. EVERY MUSCLE GROUP FROM HEAD TO TOE WILL BE TARGETED, WITH A FOCUS ON MOVING FROM THE CORE. LOW-IMPACT, CARDIOVASCULAR COMPONENTS WILL BE INCLUDED.

TEACHER YASMIN VENABLE

PILATES

THIS MAT PILATES CLASS WILL CONNECT YOU WITH YOUR POWERHOUSE AND MAJOR STABILIZING MUSCLES TO CREATE LEAN TONED MUSCLES WHILE LENGTHENING THE SPINE.

BODY CONDITIONING

THIS CLASS FOCUSES ON STRENGTHENING AND STRETCHING THE FULL BODY TO CREATE PROPER ANATOMICAL ALIGNMENT.

TEACHER  ALYSSA FORTE

CONTEMPORARY MODERN

CLASS WILL BEGIN WITH AN INTRODUCTION TO THE SPACE, THE BODY AND FOCUSED BREATHE WORK. WE WILL THEN START TO MOVE THROUGH GUIDED SEQUENCES AND IMPROVISATIONAL TASKS TO GENERATE HEAT FROM THE INSIDE OUT AND LEAN TO TUNE INTO THE STRUCTURAL ALIGNMENT OF THE BODY IN RELATIONSHIP TO GRAVITY, THE SPACE, AND OUR INNERMOST SENSATIONS. WE WILL LEARN A PHRASE TOGETHER AND THEN I WILL GIVE YOU TOOLS TO MAKE IT YOUR OWN. MY CLASS IS A PLACE TO BRING YOUR HUMANITY, YOUR EMOTIONS, YOUR CREATIVITY, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY BRING YOURSELF.

THIS CONTEMPORARY BALLET BARRE CLASS WILL PLACE A HYPER FOCUS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF ALIGNMENT, THE BEAUTY IN THE APPLICATION OF TECHNIQUE, WHILE FINDING THE FLOW OF ENERGY AND EXPRESSION THAT WILL CREATE A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO THE AESTHETIC AND HOW IT APPLIES IN ALL CREATIVE FORMS.

COMMERCIAL HEELS

THIS CLASS BLENDS JAZZ AND SOCIAL DANCE VERNACULAR WITH A FEMININE AESTHETIC TO HELP FOSTER CONFIDENCE IN HIGH-HEELED SHOES. WE WILL WORK THROUGH HEELS BASICS BEFORE DIVING INTO A COMBINATION. PLEASE ADVISE THE RECOMMENDED FOOTWEAR- A CHUNKY HEEL THAT GIVES GREAT ANKLE SUPPORT (BOOTIES ARE GREAT!). STILETTO HEELS AND SPAGHETTI STRAPS ARE NOT IDEAL FOR THIS CLASS, AND THIS CLASS CAN BE TAKEN IN SNEAKERS OR SOCKS AS PREFERRED BY THE PARTICIPANTS.

DESIGNED TO RE-ALIGN, THIS CLASS UTILIZES SOME OF TRADITIONAL BALLET BARRE WITH A PHYSICAL THERAPY FOCUS TO HELP CORRECT IMBALANCES, PROPERLY WARM UP YOUR OWN BODY, INCREASE YOUR MOBILITY SAFELY, AND STRENGTHEN EXTERNAL ROTATOR MUSCULATURE OVER TIME.

PILATES

(KA VERSION) A CORE-FOCUSED FLOW DESIGNED TO PROMOTE SPINAL STABILITY, INCREASE FUNCTIONAL CORE STRENGTH, AND UTILIZE THE DIAPHRAGM WITHIN THE RIB CAGE/PELVIS CONNECTIVITY.

CONTEMPORARY MODERN

AS A LONG TERM MOVER AND COLLABORATOR WITH KYLE ABRAHAM/A.I.M JAE WILL USE THOSE FORMS AND MOVEMENT AESTHETICS TO CURATE, GUIDE AND CULTIVATE A CLASS ENVIRONMENT GEARED TO FREEDOM IN THE INTERPRETATION AND EXPRESSION. CLASS WILL EXPLORE TEXTURE, INTROSPECTIVE MOVEMENT OF THE SPINE AND THE NUANCE OF GESTURE. WE WILL CONSIDER SPATIAL RELATIONSHIPS AND THE ACT OF CLAIMING, CARVING, AND RECHARGING THE SPACE.

TEACHER ASHLEY BROWN

JAZZ

THIS WILL BE A JAZZ CLASS BASED IN THE CLASSICAL FORMS OF THE AESTHETIC AND GENRE. WE WILL EXPLORE THE DEEP HERITAGE OF THE FORMS WITH LIKES OF FOSSE, LUIGI, BENJAMIN ROBINS, AND OTHER TRADITIONAL AND BROADWAY MASTERS. CLASS WILL INCLUDE WARM-UP AND CENTER COMBINATIONS. INCORPORATING BREATH WORK, ISOLATION, ALONG WITH VARIATIONS OF TENDUS, PLIES AS WELL AS EXTENSIONS. OUR CLASS WILL FOCUS ON TECHNIQUE WHILE EXPLORING PERSONAL STYLE AND EXPRESSION ROOTED IN RHYTHMIC AND DYNAMIC INTERPRETATION. LETS DANCE.

LEAD BY VARIOUS ARTISTS IN THE TDE COMMUNITY

IMPROV

EACH SESSION WILL BEGIN WITH A WARM UP THAT GUIDES EACH ARTIST TO A PHYSICAL AWARENESS OF THE BODY INTUITIVELY AND HOW THE SPACE AROUND THEM CAN INFORM FUTURE CHOICES. THIS SESSION WILL BE A MIXTURE OF ALL FORMS FOCUSED ON PROVIDING THE INDIVIDUALS WITH TOOLS TO RELEASE AND FIND THEIR IDIOSYNCRATIC SELF IN SPACE. EACH SESSION WILL CULMINATE IN A SERIES OF TASKS TO REFLECT THE ELEMENTS EXPLORED AND DISCOVERED.

REPERTORY WEEK 1- "I DEFINE"- SET BY JAE NEAL

IN THIS WORK TDE USES THE VARIOUS INSTRUMENTATION TO EVOKE AN INTERNAL CONFLICT THAT EXISTS WITH ENTITIES THAT ARE OFTEN SEEN AS THE ROCK OF A FAMILY OR INSTITUTION RARELY GIVEN A CHANCE TO EVOLVE OR EVEN BE IN NEED. SO THIS WORK EXPLORES THE EMOTIONAL FIGHT AND OFTEN BREAKS DOWN THAT ONE ENDURES TO REVEAL SELF TO SELF AND OTHERS. IN AN EFFORT TO DEFINE WHO YOU ARE NOW AND WHO YOU ASPIRE TO BE YOUR OWN TERMS.

REPERTORY WEEK 2- "THE SPACE BETWEEN"- SET BY ALYSSA FORTE

THIS WORK EXPLORES THE EMOTIONAL ARCH THAT EXISTS BETWEEN THE ILL AND THE COMMUNITY THAT SURROUNDS THEM. HOW ONE COPES WITH STAYING ALIVE FOR SELF AND OTHERS. ALONG WITH THE BEAUTY THAT COMES WITH ACCEPTANCE AND CHOICE TO LIVE THE DAYS YOU HAVE. IT'S ALL CYCLICAL AND A PART OF THIS GRAND JOURNEY. HOW AND WHO YOU TRAVERSE THESE TIMES WITH MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. OPERA MUSIC LENDS ITS EMOTIONAL CAPACITY WHILE SETTING THE TONE FOR THE AUDIENCE TO LEAN INTO THE WORK.
